Accurst was created by Adon & Melmoth sometime in 1998-1999 under the name 'Disturbed'. The early material was a combination of experimental Ambient & Power Electronics/Death Industrial.
A year or so later, a disagreement on the course of this project resulted in its deterioration. Melmoth went on to work on his other projects and focus on his sound studio, Cerberus Studios, while Adon directed his attention towards his other project, Obsequies.
It was while working on Obsequies that ideas on how 'Disturbed' should sound materialized in Adon's mind. After talking to Melmoth and realizing he was not interested, he had decided to rename the project to its current name and focus on its new course.
Accurst's early material had some similarities with 'Disturbed', but it was not until 2002 that Accurst took its full form; and thus "Fragments of a Nightmare" (released through Colflesh in 2003) was born.
On December 19th, 2005, and after a year in production, Accurst's second album, "A Phantom's Noctuary" (to be released through the Sérpéné Héli Music Collective), was completed.
A third album is scheduled to be recorded in the near future as part of a trilogy.
